Step 1 is obviously being born.
Step 2 is to become an Associate Software Engineer.
In other news, I am now an Associate Software Engineers (surprise, surprise). Which explains my prolonged absence in all forms of the Internet. I got promoted and I got assigned to an urgent project, which means I have less ‘john is doing stuff come again later’ time.
This post is just to inform any of you regular readers who still visit my blog (in case there are any in the first place) about my status. Regular blogging activity does not seem likely to resume at this juncture. Hopefully I’ll be able to work out something new.
On the plus side, I actually get paid to do what I was doing for free in the first place. Developing I mean. In case you get any other ideas.
P.S. - And those of you who tagged me for “10 things that make you happy” will have to wait a bit longer to find out what gets my freak on.
P.S.S. - Work on my new site has paused for the moment. You can get a sneak peak here - http://www.incrediblebulk.info
9 mob opinions for “Step 2 in becoming a hot shot software engineer”
Hmm you havent mentioned Step 3? or 4, 5 ,6? Anyway ‘Hot Shot software engineer’ seems pretty ambiguous to me heh heh! For one thing, what does ‘hot shot’ mean exactly? A HOT software engineer who can shoot?
Probably not. After all, hot guys dont end up being software engineers do they? (now hot gals on ther other hand, soo end up being s/w eng.s LOL)
Anyway heres wishing you a great career!
Cheers!
Congratz man
@Niro
If I gave out all the steps then everyone would be hotshot SEs! My good friend Google tells me that Hot shot is defined as
“Intended for maritime use, hot shots were solid iron shot heated in a furnace and fired at wooden vessels. …”
Needless to say this was NOT what I intended. I think I meant ‘billionaire’. You know, a man with simple needs. A few houses in different continents. A fleet of cars and a few planes. Low key stuff :]
@Azrael
Thanks man. :]
you free slut
Oh congrats on getting paid
:]
DUUUUUDE!! Congrats!!!
Suggestion for your new site:
The site layout is nice but why red? Maybe another cooling colour? Just my opinion though
What exactly were you getting paid for earlier then?
@Nish
Exactly my thoughts actually :] ! The way I’ve designed the site allows me to switch the design in no time. I’ll try to change it before launch.
@Jerry
Just to do stuff!
I fell sorry for your company. I really do.
