The Golden Illusion
There are four people (three “women” and one guy) working in the same room as me, practically in the same department. I use the term “women” loosely. Although I do not doubt that their hearts are in the correct place, I sometimes doubt that their heads are screwed in the correct way. At times shrieking harpies that can rip a man limb from limb and sometimes as sweet as honey when they want something (usually cake). Anyway after working with them for 1 year I have come to realize that women have their priorities wrong.
Take for example the cliché about women always being interested in clothes, jewelry. That is so true it hurts. All three of them are always talking about sandals or frocks or gold and what not. And what the heck is the difference between a frock and a blouse(Does anyone really care?) ? One of them even buys necklaces wholesale (I’m still carrying out investigations to ascertain that fact).
The ladies, one in particular, keep on harping about the varied good qualities of gold. How it can be a good investment. How it can be crafted into a fashionable piece of jewelry and so on and so forth. But they don’t understand that the keen brain that the male of the species possess can see through all this. This is just like what happened a long time ago. Adam was minding his own business being naked and happy (as every man wants to) when Eve comes along and pops THE APPLE in his mouth. Trouble in paradise.
The same thing will happen if,
a. You are married
b. You buy gold as an investment
c. Your better half finds out
No woman would willingly give up gold so that it can be traded in for money. But show me a woman who buys gold as an investment and I will show you a cross dresser.
I mean when you compare it to manly interests like gadgets and cars and computers it cannot even remotely compete. What can be more cooler than owning a GeForce 8800 Ultra? Owning two of them obviously. I mean at least the video card will be able to render some amazing graphics. Can gold do that? You can’t even fit it into the slot. It will just sit there looking stupid.
Well I’ve run out of steam the moment. This is just a temporary post. I needed to unwind and the office was rather quiet when I walked in today. So in the interests of leading an exciting life I wrote this. Hopefully the ladies will not object too much and will let me keep my dignity at least. And yes, I would still prefer a GeForce 8800 Ultra SLi over a small lump of gold. Mostly because the 8800 will be worth more than the gold at current market prices.

huh! So trouble in paradise was all because of a woman? Why was the big, strong Adam (with the ‘keen brain’ as u say) dumb enough to put the damn apple in his mouth then??
I’d choose the ferrari BTW … Any one would wouldn’t they? I mean how much is the ferrari worth, and how much is that little bit of gold nugget worth?

Well even Adam had testosterones! I mean God knew that Man (note the capitol ‘M’) was His ultimate creation. Too good in fact, so he gave Adam testosterones. Eve ,being of the female species, is hardwired to take advantage of this fact.
The day male scientists discover how to separate the thinking process from testosterone is when the Men’s Lib movement really begins!

I’ll go for the Ferrari of course, as I’m one of those women who’s not interested in gold.
So God giving Adam testosterones is the excuse ha? What happend to the keen brain that the male of the species possess?

The keen brain was kept in check by the testosterones. They were originally introduced into the system to work with the keen mind and develop policies which made everyone happy. But later, when they were exposed to Eve, they mutated into their current form, which limits the male brains powers…
That exposure changed the course of life for man. And it still hasn’t stopped mutating. Evidence? Look at all the psycho’s in the world. Ask them the reason they bombed that building or killed the president or created that tribute to Georgia Woolf, and the reply is always the same - women.
